Reliability

You sleep in this vehicle. Sensa is a layer on top of your existing systems, never a single point of failure, and everything that matters runs on board rather than in a data centre.

No leap of faith

Still a normal van

Nothing is removed to fit Sensa. Your switches, control panels and remotes stay installed and keep working exactly as the manufacturer built them, whether or not Sensa is running.

Switches still on the wall
Panels still installed
Remotes in the drawer, just in case

What happens when it breaks?

Straight answers to the questions worth asking before you buy.

What happens if the Sensa unit fails?

Everything keeps working. Heating, lights, water pump and power each run on their own controls, exactly as the manufacturer built them. Sensa is a layer on top of those systems, not a replacement for them, so it is never a single point of failure. You lose the single dashboard and the automatic behaviours, not the ability to run the van.

Does a Sensa system work without an internet connection?

Yes. A Sensa Nomad system runs entirely on a computer inside the vehicle, so control, instincts and routines all keep working with no connection at all. Only the features that depend on the outside world need one: live maps and nearby places in Sensa Radar, weather and solar forecasts, and checking the van remotely from your phone. You lose the map, not the heating.

What happens when something goes wrong?

You raise it at Sensa Help and it reaches the people who built the system, based in the UK, who live with it in their own vehicles. Remote diagnostics only happen with your permission, on your say-so, and every access is logged so you can see what was done.

How are updates handled?

Updates are tested on our own fleet first. They roll out to the Sensa vans we run and monitor before they reach yours, so a problem shows up on our vehicles rather than on your holiday. Boring by design.

What happens to my system if Sensa stops trading?

Your system keeps running. Sensa is built on Home Assistant, an open platform, on hardware you own, with your data stored on board. Nothing phones home to unlock it and there is no licence server that can switch it off. You would lose future updates and our support, not the system itself.

Where things run

On board, or out in the world

Runs in the van

No connection needed

  • Every control, every dashboard, every switch
  • The instincts that watch your own kit: low battery, shore power still plugged in, the dog still aboard
  • Scenes and routines that act on what is in the van
  • All your data, stored on board

Needs a connection

Anything about the outside world

  • Radar live maps and nearby places
  • Weather and solar forecasts
  • Checking in from your phone, away from the van
  • Remote support, with your consent, logged
  • Software updates, proven on our own fleet first

Lose the signal and you lose the map. You never lose the heating.
