The problem you already know
Life on the road is a hundred little searches. Nearest fuel, nearest toilet, somewhere to empty the loo, somewhere to sleep tonight, and every one of them in a different app that thinks you drive a hatchback. Radar replaces the lot. One map, one list, everything you need, sorted by how far away it is.
One place to look
Pick the categories that matter to you, fuel, LPG, drinking water, supermarkets, pubs, vets, campsites, aires. Radar shows the nearest of each, sorted by distance, on whichever device is in your hand. Star the ones you care about and they stay at the top.
Tell it where to look however suits you: a place name, a postcode, a ///what3words address, or one tap to use where you already are. Three words will find a layby, a trailhead or a pitch in the middle of a field, which is exactly what a postcode cannot do.

Built for the big stuff
Low bridge? Already avoided.
Radar doesn’t. Tell it your height, width and weight once, and the low bridges, weight limits and flooded lanes that would stop you show up on the map before you ever meet them. Plan a route and Radar steers around them without being asked.
Clean air zones are the same story, and the one that costs real money. Every ULEZ checker will tell you about London’s £12.50. Almost none will tell you that a motorhome over 3.5 tonnes is outside that zone and inside the Low Emission Zone, on the very same boundary, where the charge runs to £300 a day. Radar shades both, and the Bath and Bristol Clean Air Zones and France’s Crit’Air areas with them, and gives the answer for the vehicle you actually drive.
Vehicle-aware hazards and routing come with Radar Premium. The bridge, weight and width data we hold covers Great Britain and Ireland today, and route planning covers Great Britain, whichever plan you are on. More countries follow as we build their roads in.

Better together
The van that knows where it is
Every Nomad ships with Radar Premium built into its cab navigation, through the Sensa Nomad Support Plan, and the first year of that plan comes with the system. Position can come from the van’s own router or mobile and hazards ahead appear as a heads-up in the cab while you drive. It works with the rest of the van too. Fuel running low? Radar knows there’s a fill-up six miles ahead on your route.
No Nomad? No problem. The standalone app brings Radar to your phone and your browser.
On the move
The map rides with you as you drive: a banner warns you about restrictions in your path before you reach them, and flood warnings land on the map live, as they’re issued. Roadworks, closures and accidents get their own layer in France and the Netherlands, including work planned up to a month ahead, so a shut road is something you find out about while you can still change the plan. The proof underneath
Radar isn’t scraped from one map company. Fuel prices come from the government’s own feed, flood warnings from the Environment Agency, pharmacies and dentists from the NHS, and the rest from owners who have actually been there. 30 sources in all.

Straight answers
No. Radar is a standalone app with its own accounts, and it works in full on any campervan, motorhome or van, whoever built it and whatever else is fitted. Open it in a browser or install it on your phone and that’s the whole setup. It has no connection to Sensa Nomad unless you own one, in which case Radar Premium is already included and appears in the cab.
Not to look around. Radar’s map, search and nearest list all work without one. You need an account for four things: saving places you want to come back to, submitting a place or an update to the community map, signing up for Premium, and keeping your preferences in sync across web and mobile.
Radar has to know where you are to tell you what’s nearby, so we’ll be plain about it. Your searches are recorded against your account with the location rounded to about a kilometre, enough for us to see which areas people search in and not enough to identify an address. Places you save are kept as you saved them, until you delete them. Tracking, which records your van’s journeys, is a separate feature that stays off until you switch it on. Radar finds places anywhere in the world. 16 countries have their map data loaded into Radar itself, so the nearest list comes back in a moment: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. That is western Europe covered end to end, and Scandinavia with it, rather than a patch here and there, and more follow as we build them in. Anywhere else, Radar asks a public map service instead, which still works but takes longer to answer.
Not yet. In the UK, Radar layers curated national sources on top of the base map: live fuel prices, the public toilet map, NHS pharmacies and dentists, MOT centres, Environment Agency flood warnings, London’s charging zones and the Bath and Bristol Clean Air Zones. France has its own live fuel prices, its clean air zones (the Crit’Air areas you need the right sticker to drive into), the national register of aires de camping-car, and live roadworks and closures on its national roads. Spain has its own live fuel prices too, LPG included, the Netherlands has national roadworks and closures, and Belgium has its register of certified food businesses. Outside those, you get the places the base map knows about, which covers most of what you need day to day, and we add each country’s own sources one at a time.
Radar plans routes in Great Britain today. That covers both kinds: the basic A-to-B route, which is free and needs no account, and the vehicle-aware version that allows for your height, width and weight and steers around low bridges and weight limits, which is Premium. Both run on road data we build in ourselves, so everywhere else you can still search, browse the map and see what’s nearby, but you can’t ask Radar to plan the drive yet. More countries follow as we build their roads in.
Two plans, one promise
Start free and stay free. When you want the richer map and routes that fit your van, Premium is £3.95 a month or £24.95 a year, and you can try it free for 7 days first.
Premium brings the richer map with satellite and street view, places the open data misses, and hazard warnings and routing matched to your van’s height, width and weight. Route planning covers Great Britain today. Offline maps on mobile, for when the signal dies, are coming soon.
Every Nomad system includes Radar Premium, through the Sensa Nomad Support Plan, and the first year of that plan is included in the price of the system. Licences by tier: one on Base, two on Pro, two on Vision and two on AI.
