Nomad Support Plan

The annual plan that keeps remote access, remote support, cloud backups, software updates and Radar Premium running. The first year comes with your system.

Your van looks after itself. This is us looking after the rest.

Everything that makes a Nomad a Nomad runs on the computer inside your vehicle. The lights, the heating, the water, the scenes, the instincts that quietly watch the battery and the shore-power lead: none of it needs us, and none of it needs the internet.

But five things cannot live in the van, because their whole point is that they come from outside it. Checking on the van from your phone when you are 200 miles away. Us signing in to fix something without asking you to drive anywhere. A copy of your configuration held somewhere that is not in the vehicle that just got broken into. The software updates we build, test on our own fleet and then deliver to your system. And Radar Premium, which is a service on our side of the connection by definition.

Those five are the Sensa Nomad Support Plan. The first year is included in the price of every Nomad system, so there is nothing to buy on day one and nothing to think about until the anniversary comes round.

Read this bit first

Your van works whether you have a plan or not.

The Support Plan is not a licence to use your own vehicle, and there is no kill switch on the anniversary. Every switch, light, pump, heater, tank and sensor runs on the computer bolted into the van, the same way it keeps running with no internet and no phone signal. Let the plan lapse and the system carries on exactly as before, on the version it is on. You simply stop getting remote access, remote support, cloud backups, new software updates and Radar Premium.

What the plan covers

Remote access for you

Best for: Checking in when you are nowhere near the van

  • Reach your own system from anywhere, on phone, tablet or laptop
  • No static IP address, no port forwarding, no router surgery
  • Works through the van’s own connection, whichever router or Starlink you use
  • The same dashboard you see at home, not a cut-down remote version

Remote support from Sensa

Best for: The days when something has gone wrong and you would rather not be the engineer

  • Our staff sign in and fix it, instead of talking you through it
  • Every session is time limited, and you can end it whenever you like
  • Every session is logged, so you can see what happened and when
  • We can open a session from our side when something is broken badly enough that you cannot reach the switch yourself

Cloud backups

Best for: The card that fails and the van that gets broken into

  • Your configuration is copied off the vehicle automatically
  • Restore onto replacement hardware rather than rebuilding by hand
  • Covers the part that took the longest to get right: your setup, not your hardware

Software updates

Best for: Staying on the current version without becoming the one who maintains it

  • New Nomad software delivered to your system and applied for you
  • Every release runs on the vans we own and monitor before it reaches yours
  • You pick the maintenance window, so updates land when you are not using the van
  • Operating system updates are handled in the same window, not separately

Radar Premium licences

Best for: Keeping the map and the routing on the plan that fits your build

  • One licence with Base, two with Pro, Vision and AI, for your household
  • Vehicle-aware routing that knows your height, width and weight
  • The richer map, with satellite and street view
  • On web, iOS, Android and the van’s own screen

What it costs

The plan is priced by the Nomad tier it looks after, because a Vision system has more of ours running behind it than a Base does. The first year of the matching plan is included in the price of every Nomad system. Prices are in GBP, including VAT, as of August 2026.

Pro£129 a yearSensa Nomad Pro2
Vision£169 a yearSensa Nomad Vision2
AI£199 a yearSensa Nomad AI2

Bought on their own, a Radar Premium licence alone comes to £24.95 a year. Not sure which Nomad tier you are on, or which one you want? Compare the tiers.

If you do not renew, the control system carries on

Your van keeps working. That is the whole answer, and we would rather say it plainly than bury it, because a lapsed plan sounds like a system that has been switched off and it is nothing of the kind.

Think of it the way you already think about the internet. A Nomad does not need a connection to run your van, and it does not need a plan either. Lights, switching, pumps, heating, water, tanks, temperature, the dashboard on the screen in front of you, every scene and every instinct: all of it runs on the computer bolted into your vehicle, and all of it carries on whether the plan is in force, expired, or was never renewed at all. There is no licence fee to control your own van and no kill switch on the anniversary.

Exactly five things stop, and they are the five you were paying for:

  • Remote access for you. You can still control the van from inside it and on its own network; you stop being able to reach it from 200 miles away.
  • Remote support from Sensa. We can no longer sign in to fix something for you.
  • Cloud backups. Your configuration stops being copied off the vehicle.
  • Software updates. Your system stays on the version it is running, which keeps working exactly as it does today. It simply stops being moved forward.
  • The Radar Premium licences, which drop back to Radar Free. Radar itself keeps working.

Nothing else changes, and nothing is deleted. Renew at any time and all five come straight back.

Before you ask

The Support Plan, answered plainly

The questions people ask us most often about what the plan is, what it is not, and what happens at the end of the first year.

Do I have to buy this with my system?

No. The first year of the Sensa Nomad Support Plan is included in the price of every Nomad system, so there is nothing extra to buy on day one. It renews annually after that, and renewing is optional.

So is Nomad a subscription product?

No. Sensa Nomad has no licence fee and no subscription to control your own vehicle. You buy the kit once and it keeps running, offline and indefinitely. The Sensa Nomad Support Plan is an optional annual plan for the five things that cannot run inside the van: remote access, remote support, cloud backups, software updates and Radar Premium.

What actually stops if I let it lapse?

Reaching your van from outside it, us signing in to help you, backups leaving the vehicle, new software updates, and the Radar Premium licences, which drop back to Radar Free. Everything that runs in the van carries on: scenes, instincts, switching, monitoring and the dashboard on the screen in front of you, on the version you are running.

Why is it priced differently for Base, Pro and Vision?

Because there is more of ours behind a bigger system. A Vision has AI vision and speech, more devices reporting in and a larger configuration to back up, so its plan costs £169 a year against £99 for a Base.

How many Radar Premium licences do I get?

It depends on the tier: one on Base, two on Pro, two on Vision and two on AI. A Sensa licence belongs to a household rather than to a person, so where the plan covers two, two people can each have their own account, their own saved places and their own phone on the one plan.

Can you get into my van whenever you like?

No. A remote support session is time limited, it generates a fresh single-use password each time, and you can end it at any point. We can open one from our side, which exists so we can help when something is broken badly enough that you cannot reach the switch, and if you would rather we never did that, tell us and we will not. It is all set out in the privacy policy.

Do I need it for over-the-air updates?

Yes. Delivering Nomad software updates to your system and applying them for you is part of the plan, on every tier. They stay opt-in and you choose the maintenance window, so nothing lands while you are using the van. If the plan lapses your system stays on the version it is running and carries on working; it simply stops being moved forward.

  • The Sensa Nomad Support Plan includes radar Premium licences. Radar Premium on web, iOS, Android and the van's own screen, for the people in your household.
  • The number of Radar Premium licences depends on the tier: one on Sensa Nomad Base, two on Sensa Nomad Pro, two on Sensa Nomad Vision and two on Sensa Nomad AI.
